Dot NAME Domains

Set up in 2001, the .NAME TLD is the sole TLD planned for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to reserve john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already grabbed 3rd-level names remained functional.

You will have the chance to modify the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer authorization code from the current domain registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been completed. There are no specific regulations on who can obtain a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the objective behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
